During the Easter party, which took place at the very beginning of my stay in Nuuk, I met a large group of people. Pivinnguaq Mørch was also in this group.
Pivinnguaq was one of the ten winners in the first writing competition ’Allatta!’ (Let us write!) from Milik Publishing in 2013.
He wrote a story about a heartbreaking daughter and father relationship with the title of ’Tunivarma pilluaatinnik’ (You give me happiness). In the same year Pivinnguaq won the first poetic slam in Greenland.
In 2015, he published his debut book “Arpaatit qaqortut” (The white running shoes), containing nine stories and fourteen poems. Pivinnguaq examines existential topics related to life and Greenlandic everyday lifestyle. He currently lives in Nuuk, where he studies cultural and social history at the Ilimmarfika University of Greenland.
Pivinnguaq also completed a tourist course to become the Arctic guide in Niuernermik Ilinniarfik (business school) in southern Greenland.
This is his approximate profile, and in the video below you will see what he had to say. I invite you to watch :).
